![]() ![]() Generates report of progress by project and allows you to group tasks by project and Board as well as the following features: Multiple boards. It allows the control of projects using methodology Kanban, model widely used for control of all types of projects. I have researched and researched and cannot find a solution. It is a Personal Project Manager APP that simulates the position of a control board with cards or post-it that move horizontally between its three sections depending on the task: to do, doing and done. If I have a half hour period between conference calls to make other phone calls, every phone call I need to make was right in front of my face in a visual layout.Īnyway, sorry for the long post. For example, I found in Trello, it helped me immensely to move all my tasks for that day to a board where each column in the board represented the contexts like Phone Calls, Errands, Free Time, Waiting For, Agendas, etc. Relationships between tasks so when I move something around, it keeps its link to the project. The ability to switch between 5,000 ft views and 50,000 ft views of my systemĭrag and drop cards between Kanban columns The ability to customize the system and make it fit the GTD method List management for non-tasks (Tickeler, gift ideas, etc.) Native apps for mobile and desktop (all Apple products) with real time syncing If I do find something that has potential, either the mobile app has horrible reviews and hasn't been updated in two years, or they don't have native apps for mobile and desktop. The issue I am finding is almost everything seems geared toward enterprise and teams, which I don't need. I have realized I am simply not a list person and I need the visuals to help me process things better. I feel like I can finally relate to left handed people living in a right handed world. Here is my dilemma, I can't find anything that works. Kanbanier - Nice interface, but no ability to add due dates Merlin Project - Desktop app seems ok, but iOS app isn't functional for what I am looking for The reminders are way off and I need to rely on third part plugins to get it to do what I want, which scares me because what happens if the developer of the third party plugin I come to rely on is no longer supported. Trello - I really want to love it, but it comes up short. I have tried several softwares and am struggling to find a perfect match.Īsana - felt it wasn't a great fit and maybe a bit too complicatedĭropTask - Love the concept, but not sure I can customize it enough to fit the GTD process I have read write up after write up and watched several YouTube videos lately on more visual task management. Here is my issue and advice I am seeking. ![]() This lead me to giving Trello a shot and I noticed instantly that having a visual system felt completely natural and that I was even more productive than before. I remember watching TV shows and movies where people use a Kanban style board to tackle projects or solve mysteries and always felt the technique made so much sense. What I have discovered is I am significantly more of a visual person than I thought. I realized I didn't have much faith in my system using OmniFocus. When all was said and done, it worked better than any other method I had used in the past and made me think of what David Allen has said about having trust in your system not to fail you. I used MindNode to create a big mind map and worked off of that. ![]() When push came to shove, I ended up planning it all out in the way that felt most natural to me. It was a 10 day gig with a massive scope that required a lot of planning. I think OmniFocus is an amazing piece of software and definitely drives the GTD system home, but I recently discovered something about myself that has me thinking OmniFocus may not be the right software for me. That said, I have been using OmniFocus for years, but always struggled to stick with it. I love how GTD is an approach to task and project management and not a software system. I have subscribed to the methodology of GTD for years and believe it is definitely a fit for me. I am new here and I am looking for some advice. ![]()
